The Albanese and Minns Labor Governments have reached an Agreement to fully and fairly fund New South Wales public schools.

As part of the Heads of Agreements signed today, the Commonwealth will provide an additional 5 per cent of the Schooling Resource Standard (SRS) to New South Wales.

This will lift the Commonwealth contribution from 20 per cent to 25 per cent of the SRS by 2034 and follows New South Wales delivering its election commitment to reach 75 per cent of the SRS in 2025, two years ahead of the former Liberal National Government.

In the last couple of weeks, we've had big announcements on Medicare, three big ones.

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will build on its historic investment in Medicare to expand the availability of free, urgent care, with a $644 million commitment to open another 50 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics, with more clinics in every state and territory.

ANTHONY ALBANESE, PRIME MINISTER: It's great to be back in my electorate, my hood, here at Hawke’s Brewery, here in Marrickville. I came here when this site was under construction. And since then, what we've seen is that this is a centre of community activity. People come here, it's a convivial atmosphere. It employs local people, it drives the local economy, and it makes a difference.

The Albanese Labor Government will freeze the indexation on draught beer excise for two years, in a win for beer drinkers, brewers and hospitality businesses.

Indexation is applied twice a year under arrangements in place for decades. While the February indexation accounted for a small percentage of the cost of a pint, this change will help pubs and their patrons.

We will freeze indexation on draught beer for two years from the next indexation date of August 2025.

We're always looking for ways to help Australians with cost of living and this project here has resulted in just that.

The Albanese Labor Government is working with the Minns NSW Government to deliver a new $25 million program to help apartment residents save up to $600 on their energy bills annually.

The Solar for Apartment Residents incentive is the first-of-its-kind in NSW and provides co-funding to eligible owners’ corporations and strata managers to install shared rooftop solar systems.

Currently one in five NSW homes are apartments, yet only about 3.5 per cent of those are connected to solar.

SAM RAE, MEMBER FOR HAWKE: Good morning. My name’s Sam Rae. We’re here at the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Sunbury. We announced this urgent care centre as part of the 2022 election campaign. It was a priority in our plan to fix Medicare and we opened it just twelve months later. Since then it’s seen 19,000 patients and become a critical component of the primary healthcare system here in Sunbury.
